On Sunday December 7th at 2:00pm the Los Angeles Theater (a historic theater in downtown LA) will be showing "White Christmas" (1954). How fun is that? =)
I am SO going! (And I'm going with some other costumers too).
Now, if I can somehow manage to pull together a 1950s outfit in time, that will just be the icing on the cake. =)
FYI - for others interested in coming along, tickets ($10/adult) can be purchased at the LA Conservancy website.

I SO want to go. I've seen White Christmas dozens of times and and quote quite a bit of the movie.
Jenn M and I even get into it by singing Snow and Sisters!
Will have to check with Jeff....
=) That would be neat if you two decided to come.
I was chatting with Colleen C. yesterday when she mentioned it, and I said I was game for going...and Amy C and Colleen both were, so looks like the three of us are going. =)
I'd love to get a 1950s outfit together...if possible. I have a bunch of Retro patterns from Butterick & Simplicity that I was thumbing through this morning. I think I settled on a 1952 style...but even with 1952 (vs. some 1957 that were calling to me), I've got a few options. Choices! Of course, my next big choice would be fabric. What type of fabric to buy & use to make an outfit. My thoughts are in a whirl! (And not on preparing the lease that I really need to get back to working on. Eek! Later! =).
I think we might be able to come down! We'll decide soon so I can get tickets.
I'm sure I can get a quick skirt/dress together in a week (after my Thanksgiving trip to NM). If not, just a skirt (already have a pattern) and wear with a simple sweater and BIG earrings and curled hair. :-)
